…that started in the dark ages of the late 1970′s, the flotsam and jetsam of bands such as the Astrobeats, the Jetsons, The Aviators, Crank Call Love Affair, the Gluons, SatinSteel and the Rock Advocates…washed up on the shores of the Cumberland River in the great flood of 2010 that no one knows about.

Deposited with the silt in an unassuming basement in the Nashville ‘burbs, the beginnings of Voodoo Stingray lay in suspended animation. The ghosts of Patsy Cline, Roy Orbison, Roger Miller, and Gentleman Jim Reeves conjured and cajoled and finally spat fire to create the sound that is Voodoo Stingray. The band is a threesome featuring singer songwriter and guitarist Doug, Smokey on bass guitar, and Bobby on drums.
